Spirituality and Awakening
Spirituality and Awakening is an occasional series of meetings hosted by St Bride’s Liverpool to explore the theory and practice of spirituality and awakening. They usually take place as public talks, presentations or workshops with invited speakers.
Many people today, both inside and outside of religious institutions, recognise the value of giving attention to the spiritual dimension of life and society. Becoming aware of this spiritual dimension can happen in many ways, for example through experiences of awe and wonder in nature, through the stilling or ecstatic experiences of worship or meditation practices or through study and research that expands perspectives.
Spirituality widens our perspectives to realise we are part of a greater whole and connected to all other people and things and ultimately to the Source of All – however we name that reality. These widening perspectives are capable of changing our experience of life and contributing to greater peace and harmony in our lives and in the world.
