A spring flows in the city’s heart
Through a green leaf-spout:
I fill my glass.
Haiku by Ruth Stock after Tuesday Midday Prayer in St James’ Gardens
During Ray Simpson's visit for April's Festival of Spirituality we held midday prayer in different parts of the city. On the Monday we met at the 'Pool of Life' in L1 where we reflected on Jung's dream of Liverpool as a dank pool but at the heart was a radiant tree. On the Tuesday we celebrated the green places of the city with a ritual drawn from Merseyside Forest Church. The spring in St James' Gardens spoke to us of the water of life flowing over the stones regardless of whether anyone is there to collect or even notice.
The Divine Presence likewise pours out, overflowing from a heart of Love, channeled by Creation and available to all who pause to see.
