WAKE UP in Liverpool
We are looking forward to the WAKE UP in Liverpool 2016 festival of spirituality coming up in April, hosted and supported by St Bride’s Church, Spirituality Liverpool, Make Space and Infinite Arts!
There are numerous events and some really interesting guest speakers with import things to share: Francis Bennett, Ray Simpson and Gillian Ahlgren. There is something for everyone: this international line-up of inspiring insightful speakers, opportunity to share and experience mindful movement, meditation, simple devotional worship that takes you to stillness and much more. During the festival there is the invitation to express yourself through art, music, poetry or any other creative medium that can be shared on the final day.
The whole idea and reality of waking up is one that we need and is capable of influencing every area of life. To wake up to a wider perspective, a deeper experience of life, the connectedness between each other, human beings and the life energy of the universe, to wake up to goodness, beauty, truth, love and compassion is to transform the world.
Spirituality is about a generous invitation to live life to the full in harmonious relationship to the creative life energy of the universe which many call God. This amazing creative energy of the universe is experienced by people in many ways: sometimes called the Three Faces of God. God known in the infinite mystery of the universe. God known as that inner spark or essence of the divine in each one. God known as the One who loves us and is towards us with compassion and invitation to grow.
To wake up to this reality of Spirit causes us to transcend the narrow concerns of individual ego or tribal groupings of nation and religion to see a bigger vision of the world, one in which care, compassion and creativity come to the fore.
Do come along and experience this first ‘WAKE UP in Liverpool festival’ for yourself!
